Open Letter to Mr. Antonio Guterres Secretary-General to the United Nations on Climate Action

Dear Mr. Guterres,
Salute your relentless efforts to awaken the sleeping nation-states controlled by adults with old dirty habits and vested interests. Children and youth around the world are immensely grateful to you for your support and solidarity with us in our struggles against the gross violations of our rights to inter-generational justice and to all the more than 98% of marginalized oppressed and subjugated sections of human society. What a shame that a tiny minority sunk in hubris and in utter disregard to our safety and survival wants to take down all of us in one fell swoop.
Sensing the drift of how the acceleration and intensity of global climate breakdown far surpass the current governance structures of “sovereign” nation-states and United Nations, we, the children and youth are already preparing to take the matter in our hands.
1. As push comes to shove, we will be announcing the formal launch of GAIA – The Earth Parliament as a collective of tens of thousands of self-sustainable city and village republics around the world. This will be announced on the day of the next big Global Climate Strike on Friday 20th September, 3 days before the UN Climate Action Summit on Monday, September 23, 2019.
2. To coordinate a smooth transition to fill up the gaps that will be created by shutdown of large scale manufacturing, grids and pipelines of electricity, gas, water and communication channels (except for the bare necessities), we are in process of setting up a Global Coordination Centre for Climate Action (Link in comments and below) that will also be announced on the same date.

3. In accordance, we shall have the discretion as provided by the United Nations Declaration for Rights of Indigenous People signed in 2007 by all the nation-states (with few abstentions) to continue to support the nation-states in our geography or to set up our independent systems and structures in every city and village republic or in regional clusters.
Looking up to you for your personal efforts and tremendous contributions, we shall invite you as a Mentor friend philosopher and guide for our new initiative as we see no hope of shaking up the gargantuan UN bureaucracy and the vice-grip of the errant and rogue nation-states completely oblivious to the survival and well-being of the people they claim to represent.
I have been working as a climate and ecological activist for two decades and wrote this article in 2007 on why we needed to urgently align economic development goals to a healthy environment. (Ref 1) and a recent letter to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on the urgent need to decommission polluting industries and habitats.(Ref 2)

5 Trillion Trees to save life on Earth

Sun 14 July @ Shipra mall Indirapuram Ghaziabad

14 july tree plantation invite

Why 5 trillion trees in next 5 years? – 1000 each by billion people
The most effective way to fight global warming is to plant lots of trees – one trillion of them, maybe more, a study says.

And there’s enough room, Swiss scientists say. Even with existing cities and farmland, there’s enough space for new trees to cover nine million square kilometres, they reported in Thursday’s journal Science.

Where?
